Why are there no 3D printed houses or container homes available today in California? We live in a state that has stifled innovation keeping housing terribly expensive and exclusive. We need to build more housing! I am tired of seeing good families pushed out of the state, unable to afford the California dream. Reducing the costs and increasing the availability of housing is a top priority to me.

I will work to get Government out of the way in the building processes, protect the environment and bring new ideas to solve old problems.

Hewitt's plan
Streamline the permitting process and encourage counties to follow the most efficient permitting practices. It costs over 85 thousand dollars before you can even begin construction on a new home. Fixing our broken permitting systems will drive the cost of building new homes down, making a larger inventory and lower home prices.
Incentivize innovation in the world of housing by exploring the efficacy of 3D Printed homes, Container homes and other forms of alternative materials. Helping to pass new Legislation to allow for innovation in this field will help to make housing more affordable, more sustainable, and more abundant.
